Dealer I got my '22 from also is marking their '24s down. The 2 on the lot with physical photos are $2,500 off $1,677 off (says they added Predator steps but photo doesn't show them on the truck so might be able to get a TRD premium with a discount).

Be aware, discounts are coming! ZR2's are also found for $2,500 off, AT4X's for $5,000 off MSRP. Ranger Raptor no luck, normal Rangers can be had at 4% under invoice if you order.

I was in the market for a Tundra in 2022 (decided to keep my Tacoma) but dealer markups and 'sell only at MSRP prices' stuck around for over a year. Obviously that was related to supply / Covid issues, but its great to see decent discounts already hitting with the new Tacomas. I feel like Toyota priced these about 5k too high and thought they were going to get away with it.

Yep msrps are just that. Suggested prices. The market determines the actual value

msrp is quite literally a manufacturers SUGGESTED retail price. Retail price isnt even a minimum advertised price, the market is what determines mark ups. Stop paying the mark ups, walk out and let them sit for 30 days. If they turn, they continue. if they sit, price drops.

CarEdge shows that Tacoma has been on the Freeman Toyota lot for 34 days (as of this posting). Let it sit on their lot a few more weeks and they may hit your 5K too high price point.

Got an email last week from Gladstone Toyota. $3,713 off MSRP for a 2024 SR. Here is the email and the window sticker. Sneaky how they put an Off Road in the picture of the ad. I just checked today and the SR is still listed on Gladstone’s web site even with the discount.

Even if a discounted Tacoma sells, I’m keeping notes of the discounts. When I get serious on buying a 4th Gen I have 9 Toyota dealers within 50 miles of me. Which ever dealer wants to work with me on the price will get my business.

A discount on an inflated pricing structure is not a discount.

I’m definitely seeing more on the street everyday in the mid-Atlantic. Hopefully people aren’t over paying.

Without all the add-ons, premium pacs, PIO’s etc, pricing seems more realistic. My 2019 DCOR was $39,007. A thousand worth of extras….

Five years later, new model, massive inflation, a 5-6 grand difference isn’t insanity to me.

    Just my .01

Disclaimer: not a scientific, to the penny comparison. Gross generalizations at work here folks.

my 2023 tacoma bought nov 2022 when everyone had stupid market adjustment was $38k from 41k msrp.
never pay market adjustment, never pay msrp.
    my last 3 vehicles:
tacoma 4x4 sport 41k msrp got it 38k - passport toyota, maryland plus refund on plane ticket and uber.
rav4 2019 msrp 27.7k got it 21k- schaumbur toyota, illinois - flew to ohare air[ort using credit card miles
lexus rsx350 2018 53k msrp got it 44k - nalley lexus, goergia - flew to atlanta using credit card miles
every dealer in my state are robbers. market adjustment of 5-15k, oon top of that they add in stupid crap like nitro tires, chip protection, paint protection and all other crap they can think of.
i negotiated all my vehicle prucahses thru the internet. once i get a negotiated price signed by manager i bring it to my local dealer and have them match it. if they dont match then i go ut of state.

I just started a thread in the 3G forum about my 2023 (a poverty trim TRD OR DCAT). I got $3300 more for it from Carmax than what I paid for it originally. Carmax bought it for $40400, and will probably sell it for $43K+. So you can already buy a new 4G for less than what a used, low mileage late model 3G is going for of the same trim.
