Lead time on ordering an OR

I'm probably going to buy this summer. Anyone have any info on how long it takes to get one built if I can't find one I like in stock nearby?
Looking to get an OR with the long bed and minimal or no options.

 

You can’t really order one but if you catch the right dealer at the right time they might be able to adjust an allotment if they just got it on their list.

When I was looking for a grand Highlander, the dealer got one spec’d as a platinum in black. I wanted white. Since it was early enough, they requested the change and got it plus removed a few of the PIO I didn’t want.

Now, there is no way to know if is what actually happened or they had an allotment for the white one. I was able to see it on their page with the same temporary vin change from black to white and the removal of an option.

Call around and ask the dealers. Use Toyota.com to search inventory. Good luck!


It took them about 2 months from when they requested the paint color change to me having the car.

 

Use Toyota's inventory search function (it will allow you to see stuff in the pipeline), you can go out 500 miles. My region is similar to SET so I actually look at Chicago area and Northeast region as their PIO are more appropriately equipped.

I ordered my white off road premium with selected options on April 15th and picked the truck up on May 10th.I was surprised to see it show up so soon considering it being in Canada.

 

Yuck. Closest long-bed ORs are in CA. And all optioned up to 49K +. Guess I'll go talk to my local dealer and see if they can come up with one like I want.

 

If you have a better chance at speeding up the process by looking at what you want via inventory search then picking a dealer first.

 

Unfortunately, I have only one nearby dealer (next closest is 137mi) so I'll check with them first.

 

I put down a deposit this week and got allocation yesterday. Delivery date is slated for mid-July.
