Damn this brings back bad memories few yrs back I did fireworks display shows in the summers for Grucci pyrotechnics. I Was flying from state to state for shows ATL,TN,GA,VA,FL,MS I was interrogated at all TSA check points to the point of missing flights sometimes. After handling all those 4-6 inch shells my pores were leaking gun powder.

That’s golden. TSA always gives me a hard time when I tell them they’re not allowed to touch NFA stuff if I’m not present but I don’t think they’ve ever swabbed a case.

I worked at a major airport for 10 years. We had to attend a meeting in the main terminal and on our way back to our shops we decided to be polite and go through tsa. They flagged us all because we were carrying knives and other tools. We explained they were our tools and we all had not only security badges but also badged for customs security. We quietly exited and walked around to a door behind the tsa checkpoint, yelled hey to get their attention, flipped them off while swiping our badges and walked through the door.

TSA failed to find something I accidently had in my backpack. It was one of those Outdoor Edge knives with 4-5 extra blades for it. They even looked at the images twice. I was kinda surprised but not that surprised. I didn't find it until I got to my hotel. Can't believe I missed it when repacking the bag.

I paid extra for the "privilege" of Pre-Check. But they choke on the CPAP. Gotta stop and open it up and then they swab it and then they want to pat me down for having it.
I just put it in my checked bag and put clothes around it to protect it. Then I walk through the TSA Checkpoint Charlie and only have to get patted down every third time.

I went as far as Global Entry for $15.00 more than Pre-✓.
Funny thing is every time take off your shoes and belts and empty your pockets. Which having to pay for Pre-✓ and Global Entry your not supposed to have to do all the extra stuff since you have a TT #. You've been scrutinized by higher authority than the lowly TSA agent. Now it's all about facial recognition in the air ports.
Last time we flew no ticket just take your picture and get on the plane. Re-entry walk up to global entry kiosk and it checks your facial recognition and turns green. Off to the CBP agent, and they gave us a card to give to the next agent. No extra searching your bags.
    Gubment at work.

They made me scan my face and passport when I checked my international bag in and then I never took my passport out again.

When I was getting on the flight to Narita they just scanned my face again. They didn’t want the ticket, passport, nothing.

The Japanese typically don’t scan you through security if you come from the US, I’m not sure why they have so much faith in our TSA.

Yep TSA is a joke to make people feel safe. I've taken so much stuff through that should have been stopped. Never once been stopped carrying an avalanche probe, which for those unaware is basically a 10 foot long spear that collapses down and assembles like a tent pole. Only place it's even been looked at was on a flight from Tokyo to Sapporo, their security pulled it out, looked at it, and then surprisingly gave it back to me (made me go back and check my snow shovel though).

I did get stopped once with a specialty bicycle wrench with zero threatening features because when the TSA employee asked what it was I happened to use the word "tool", to which she replied "You said tool, and tools did 9/11".

I also got stopped once in Paris where they swabbed my laptop several times and held me up because it apparently came back as having explosive residue on it the first time. No idea what that was about, was before I got into guns.

Anyone have suggestions for organizing long guns in a safe without using rifle rods?

Interested in this as well. I’m on my third upgrade and need to stop buying guns (unrealistic) or find a better way to utilize space
