I ordered these as a replacement for a 1982 XJ650 Seca that I am trying to refurbish. I read the reviews about "stripping the allen screw and wouldn't tighten", "bad view" and on and on so when I received them, I was a bit apprehensive.
Whole install took all of about 10 minutes and went together just as they should have. These things are AWESOME! I have a clear view of everything behind me. They don't vibrate and they look good too.
Not only that, but the seller (Kapsco-Moto) had them to me within a week. Another AWESOME! Thanks Guys.
There are a ton more things that I would like to say, but the bottom line is: These mirrors do what they are supposed to do, look damned good doing it, go together the way that they are supposed to, cost a damn sight less than comparable ones from other places, and will get to you in a hurry.
Get them, you will not regret it.
Quality of these mirrors for the price is great. Mirrors are made of glass and give good field of view. They don’t vibrate in the bars and remain clear.
Fitting them is quite a challenge. The parts that goes into the handlebar are 2 steel cones with flanges that splay out once a threaded bolt tightens down on a wedge shaped nut. The nut is made of aluminum and I found it was easy to strip it expecting it to gain purchase on the flanges while the whole assembly spins in the bars. I recommend using tools to pre-splay open the flanges and then push the nit all the way inside the smaller cone leaving enough slack so that the whole thing is loose enough (but only just loose enough) to insert into the handlebar.
Then use a wrench to apply sideways pressure on the end cap while tightening the bot with an Allen wrench so that the flanges ‘bite’ into the bar without the whole thing spinning.
One side went on great, other side span and stripped the nut but I was able to rework it into position and got it tightly installed.
The paint on the backs of the mirrors is a bit lumpy, not the best finish, but at $12.99 I think the quality is acceptable and overall I’m very happy.

1. Line up the sleeves so that the score-marks are facing the same direction. This is the end that faces into your handlebars.
2. Take the conical nut and place it into the chamfered end of the sleeve (the side with the score marks on it).
3. Take your hammer and hit the nut into place. Try your best to make it even. This causes the sleeve to deform and expand so that it will fit into your handlebars. You'll want to do this near your motorcycle so that you can check to make sure to stop when it's big enough that it's just starting to fit.
4. Put the sleeve into the handlebars and screw the mirrors into place. You may need to hold the sleeve with pliers or something to allow the nut to expand the sleeves more - I used a 5mm hex key. After I had a mirror fall out, I actually ended up using a hammer to expand the sleeve even more, then just hammering it into place - I doubt this is how it was intended to work, but it's pretty well stuck in there now.
5. Adjust your mirrors and then tighten the hex nuts. If you don't tighten the hex nuts the wind will blow your mirrors and they will become useless - I used a 4mm hex key for the tightening.
Once installed, these mirrors are a dream. If you adjust them correctly, you can see directly behind you and two lanes in either direction. The ONLY problem I've found is that they still have a blind spot. If you have regular handlebar mirrors, though, you can easily eliminate that blind spot and avoid having to turn your head.
Overall, I love these mirrors, but seriously make sure they are in place. If you are comfortable with it, glue them in or drill into your handlebars and install a set screw or something, because I've had BOTH mirrors fall off while driving! Once was on a small road and I was able to go back and pick up the mirror, but the other was on the highway and I had to buy a new set of mirrors (happened only 1 week after installing the damn things!) Hammering them into the handlebars has significantly improved my confidence that they will stay in place.

Otherwise, great mirrors. Very clear view.
